7-night river cruise

2-nights Bucharest pre-cruise

2-nights Budapest post-cruise

March 26 to April 7, 2020

Touch history in Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania, as you sail along the exotic lower Danube. Celtic fortifications, medieval towns and grand cities, along with the natural beauty of pastoral landscapes and the Danube’s famed Iron Gates, showcase the best of eastern Europe. Nature lovers will relish the opportunity to see Bulgaria’s natural wonder, Belogradchik, a fairytale stone world of fantastic shapes associated with interesting legends; or to bike through Belgrade’s sprawling Kalemegdan Park. Wine connoisseurs will have a chance to taste history from the centuries-old wine-growing hills dating back to the Romans in Ilok, a royal and vinous town. Be treated to the flavors, sights, sounds and cultures of this diverse swath of the continent.

Pre-Cruise Experience

We will start our journey with two nights in the elegant city of Bucharest, Romania. On arrival, we will check into our well-located hotel. The next day we will do a city tour and have some free time to explore. Our stay here will include daily breakfast and a welcome dinner before departing on our 7-night cruise on board the AmaCerto.

The Cruise

River cruising through Europe with AmaWaterways is an excellent way to explore a destination. We will discover local culture and sights on included tours, and then hop back on to the AmaCerto, our luxurious river cruise ship and sail to the next stunning city or charming town. Included in the fares of our river cruise are shore excursions in every port of call; all dining on board (including The Chef’s Table specialty restaurant); fine wine, beer and soft drinks with lunch and dinner; internet access and Wi-Fi; and bicycles that you can use to explore on your own or join our guided bike tours. Let's go!

Post-Cruise Experience

At the end of our cruise, we will spend two glorious days in Budapest, Hungary - nicknamed "Paris of the East." This city is stunning and the opportunity to explore and experience it fully was one we couldn't pass up. Our two nights here will include daily breakfast, a city tour, and a farewell dinner.
